Driving tests are stressful enough without having to worry about the dates of your next test. If you're like me, you've probably looked up the websites of different agencies and asked friends for their advice on where to go for your next road test—and then realized that there's no way you'll be able to schedule an appointment at all. I'm here to say that this is a problem that doesn't have to exist. You might not be planning on becoming a licensed driver anytime soon, but if you need one more reason (besides my friendliness) to get through this process as quickly as possible, here it is: By the time your driving test date rolls around, there will probably be other applicants waiting in line ahead of you! Google Calendar
Google Calendar is a free service that can be accessed on a computer or smartphone. It's great for scheduling appointments, but it also has the ability to schedule driving test dates and other events.
To set up your calendar with Google, you'll need to sign in with your Gmail account—if you don't have one yet, make sure to follow this link so we can help guide you through the steps of creating one.

Call the DMV
The DMV is a great place to start your search. They can tell you if there are any available dates and even give you an idea of how far in advance they'll allow you to book.
If they're not able to help, try calling other agencies that offer driving tests (like the testing center itself). You may get lucky and find someone who's willing to help!
Datacheckr.com
Datacheckr.com is a website that shows you when the next available driving test dates are for your area. The site can be used to find out which test center is offering the test you want, or it can be used as a general guide for finding out about upcoming tests in your area.
To use this website:
Type in an address near where you live (or travel frequently). You'll see a list of services offered by each location. If there's one close enough to where you live, click on it! If not, move on down the list until something catches your eye—it will usually say "nearby."
Click on one of those services' name links below their listing title; this brings up information about available tests at this location (and any others nearby).
Remind yourself to try for a date daily
You can set up a reminder for yourself to try for a date daily. If you're using an app, make sure that it's available in the list of your other apps and can be located easily. If you're using a calendar online, make sure that it's easy to find on your computer or phone.
The reminders should go off at the same time every day—for example, at 8:00 AM or 9:00 AM each morning (assuming you have an alarm set). In addition to being reminded about when and where the next test is scheduled, these reminders will also give details about any other information related to driving tests: location(s), testing center(s), exam format/type (or "driving test"), required documents needed before test conducted (such as proof of insurance), etc...
Book earliest date possible
It's better to book an earlier date than a later one. That way, you can avoid disappointment and long wait times when the test is held. You'll also want to make sure that your booking is in the first few days of each month so that there are fewer people on site than normal—and thus less competition for available slots.
ASDMV.com
ASDMV.com is the official website of the DMV, and it has a calendar of available driving test dates.
ASDMV.com also has a list of requirements for driving tests, as well as fees for each level of experience you have with traffic violations or accidents in your record.
Social media groups
How do I find them?
The easiest way to find driving test groups is through social media. There are several Facebook groups, Twitter feeds and Instagram accounts dedicated to helping people with their applications for a driving test and getting the most out of their experience.
What should I do when I find one?
If you’re lucky enough to stumble upon a group that suits your needs, it’s important that you don't skip any steps in order to get the most out of your time there! A successful group will have clear guidelines on how they work (and what they expect from members), but if they don't offer any guidance at all or aren't open about who can join or how often events happen then take note: these people probably aren't worth investing any time into anyway! If this happens though—don't worry! There are plenty more places online where people post about upcoming tests so just keep looking until something catches your eye.*
Websites like driving-tests.org and driversprep.com.
You can find a ton of websites that offer listings of available driving test dates. The most popular ones are Driving-tests.org and Driversprep.com, both of which are free to use and updated regularly with the latest information about when you can book your test date. Both have an easy-to-use interface that makes finding what you need quick and simple:
Driving-tests.org has an interactive map so you can browse by location if you want to see what's available near where you live or work;
Driversprep offers a search facility so users can narrow down their choices based on age (you'll want one close enough in age), gender (you'll only want one female), and experience level (the lower the better);
AAA office near you
If you're looking for a driving test date, AAA is a good resource. They have offices all over the country and can help you find available dates.
To call your local AAA office:
Call them at the number listed on their website (it's usually 1-800-222-4357). You'll be asked to fill out some information, then speak with one of their customer service representatives about what they can do for you.
If there are no cancellations or holds on your license, ask if they have any other information regarding upcoming tests or testing centers in your area!
If you don't miss out on test dates, you won't need to search for them in the first place.
If you don't miss out on test dates, you won't need to search for them in the first place.
If you miss out on test dates, then of course it's going to be difficult finding them from scratch - but that's life! You will probably have had plenty of practice failing and getting back up again, so this is something that happens naturally over time.
Don't miss out on your driving test date. Show up early, bring a friend and make sure you know the rules of the road before you get behind the wheel. And if you don't make it to your appointment? Don't worry, because there's always next time!
